Pleasantview - Series 1 - Episode 03 - Friends Reunited

Yesterday Don Lothario phoned Cassandra Goth from prison, and asked her to visit him.
Warden: Good morning.
Cassandra:
Hi. I'm here to visit Don Lothario.
Warden:
Ok, go straight through.

Don: Thank you so much for coming.
Cassandra:
It's not a problem.
Officer:
Sit down you two.

Cassandra: How are you bearing up?
Don:
I'm not.
Cassandra:
At least your only here for a few more weeks.
Don:
I can't stay here. I need your help to get me out. Dina will be busy with Jack, and I know you'd be better at it anyway.
Cassandra:
What do you want me to do?
Don:
Get me transferred or something. I haven't got a lawyer, but I know you've got your family Solicitor so maybe you could get him involved?
Cassandra:
I'll try my best, but what's happened? Why can't you stay here? Your not here for that long.
Don:
I..

Cassandra: Oh, Don, please I hate to see you upset.
Don:
It's so horrible Cassandra, I can't believe it happened to me.
Cassandra:
Come on Don, whatever it is, you can tell me.
Don:
I was...
Cassandra:
Yes?
Don:
I was raped!
Cassandra:
Oh my god!

Mary Sue: (Hums)
Bella:
Ahem.

Mary Sue: Who's there?
Bella:
It's me, Bella.
Mary Sue:
I'm sorry. Why didn't you lock the bathroom door?
Bella:
I didn't really expect anyone to come barging into my house during the day.
Mary Sue:
I was just doing my weekly clean.
Bella:
Why? I can clean you know.
Mary Sue:
I've done it for the last three years. I do it for the children.
Bella:
Well thanks for taking care of the house while I've been away, but your not really needed anymore. You can go.

Cassandra: Ok, so let me get this straight... the warden made you exercise longer than everyone else?
Don:
Yes.
Cassandra:
You don't think that maybe Rex got him to do that somehow, do you?
Don:
People are saying that he brought off the warden in the past, to let him stay here, rather than be transferred.
Cassandra:
It seems likely the Warden was in on it.
Don:
You really are a genius. Why did I ever leave you?

Cassandra: We had to choose the vicar who needed the toilet every few minutes, didn't we?
Don:
Give the guy a break.
Cassandra:
Sorry, I'm just sick of waiting to become your wife! It's taken so long to get to this day.
Don:
Hmm..
Cassandra:
Are you alright?
Don:
Cassandra, I can't do this!
Cassandra:
What!?
Don:
I'm not ready to get married...

Cassandra: What!? We've been planning this for months! We got held back further when my mum disappeared and now's the time you decide to say your not ready!?
Don:
I'm sorry. It's just taken so long for me to realise. I really love you, but...
Cassandra:
But your not ready to settle down with me!? I don't get it Don. I'm the woman for you, yet you still want to try out other women!?
Don:
I need to live my life more, before making a lifetime commitment.
Cassandra:
I can't believe this!

Don: Don't be so mad at me. We can still be a couple.
Cassandra:
Your digging yourself into a deeper hole. You want to be a couple, but your still having thoughts of looking for someone else!
Don:
It's not like that at all.
Cassandra:
Then why can't you commit to me?
Don:
I just... need more time.
Cassandra:
Do you love me?
Don:
Of course I do.
Cassandra:
Then let's get married. It's not too late. The vicars still here.
Don:
No! Cassandra, I'm not ready for marriage!

Cassandra: I just want to be with you forever.
Don:
Were still together, we haven't split up completely.
Cassandra:
Yet.
Don:
What's that supposed to mean?
Cassandra:
I can't wait for you Don! Let's face it, I'm not getting any younger. I can't wait forever!
Don:
Your finishing me?
Cassandra:
Marry me, or were over.
Don:
Then were over. You always were such a selfish brat! It's always about you!

Cassandra: Everything's gone so wrong Dad!
Mortimer:
I'm so sorry Cassandra.
Cassandra:
It's all ruined.
Mortimer:
You'll find someone else.
Cassandra:
I wanted Don.
Mortimer:
I know you did, but it's his loss.
Cassandra:
I wish mum was here.
Mortimer:
So do I, so do I.
Cassandra:
I miss her so much.
Mortimer:
Me too... (crying) Oh Cassandra, I want her back!
Cassandra:
She'll come back.. she will, I know she will.
Mortimer:
She's been gone for 5 months now. We can't find her, the police can't find her, the FBI can't find her... I just fear she'll never come back.
Cassandra:
I just wish we knew where she was.
Mortimer:
Wherever she is, I hope she's ok.
Cassandra:
She'll be fine. She can take good care of herself.
Mortimer:
I pray every night for her, you know.
Cassandra:
I do too dad. We'll get her back. Someday, we'll get her back.

Don: I never should of walked out that day.
Cassandra:
I know. I was really upset. I thought we were the real thing.
Don: So did I.

Bella: What are you still doing here?
Mary Sue:
I'm lighting the fire. I don't want Alexandra getting a cold.
Bella:
I am capable.
Mary Sue:
I doubt it. You hardly looked after your family before you left, why start now?
Bella:
Mary, I'm sorry I left, but will you please stop being like this towards me?
Mary Sue:
I've already told you it's too late for apologies.
Bella:
Then please... get out of my house!

Mary Sue: I'll stay for as long as I'm needed, and if your my proposed replacement then I'm always going to be needed.
Bella:
I can see splitting up with Daniel has had a lasting affect on you.
Mary Sue:
Don't you dare interfere with my life.
Bella:
I won't if you stop interfering with mine!
Mary Sue:
Fine, but first, tell me something. Why is it that since you've come back you've hardly mentioned Mortimer at all? Have you even looked at his grave!?
Bella:
I..
Mary Sue:
Do you even care that he's dead!?
Bella:
Of course I do.
Mary Sue:
Well maybe you should start acting like it!
Bella:
Help me then.
Mary Sue:
What?
Bella:
Help me look at Mortimer's grave. I've wanted to see it since I got back. I want to say a proper goodbye. I just can't bear to do it alone. I'd love some support from an old friend.
Mary Sue:
Ok, I'll come with you. For Mortimer.
Bella:
Thank you.

Officer: Visiting time's over.
Cassandra:
I'd like to speak to the warden before I leave.
Officer:
I'm afraid that won't be possible. He's busy.
Cassandra:
I'll be the judge of that. Just tell me where I can find him.
Officer:
He's on the front desk.
Cassandra:
Thank you.

Cassandra: Don't worry, I'm going to get you out of here.
Don:
I knew I could rely on you.
Cassandra:
You defiantly can. If my solicitor can't help you I'll bust you out of here myself!
Don:
(Laughs).
Cassandra:
I was being serious.

Cassandra: Are you the warden?
Warden:
Yes. Part time receptionist on visitors days. We just can't afford anymore staff.
Cassandra:
I know what you did, and I'm going to make sure you get punished!
Warden:
Excuse me?
Cassandra:
Don Lothario was raped in the showers, and you helped the rapist do it!
Warden:
That's a very serious accusation. I hope you can prove it.
Cassandra:
My fathers solicitor is one of the best in the country, and he'll find a way to get Don transferred and you locked up!
Warden:
I'm afraid I'll have to ask you to leave now Miss. I need to get back to my duties.
Cassandra:
What did he give you to keep Don busy for a few extra minutes?
Warden:
Miss, I'll have to physically remove you if you don't leave now.
Cassandra:
I just hope that whatever it was, it was worth the emotional despair you've caused Don!
Warden:
Miss, leave now!
Cassandra:
I'm going... but I'll be back.

Bella: (Cries) Why did I ever leave? If I hadn't gone I could have been here with him. I could of been here for his last few years. I made such a big mistake! I should of listened to you Mary.
Mary Sue:
I know...
Bella:
I am so sorry... to everyone... you, Mortimer, Cassandra and Alexandra. I never should of gone.

Mary Sue: Oh Bella. I'm glad you've realised that going was wrong. It's too late to spend time with Mortimer, but you've still got your children and you need to make up for lost time.
Bella:
Cassandra is never going to forgive me.
Mary Sue:
I'll have a word with her, and hopefully she'll realise that your genuinely sorry. I also think you should tell Alexandra the truth.
Bella:
Then he'll turn against me as well.
Mary Sue:
He has a right to know where you went Bella.
Bella:
I will tell him, one day, but not for a few weeks. I've just got him back and I couldn't stand losing him.
Mary Sue:
I think you should get it done much sooner. Cassandra's planning on telling him, but It'll be better if he hears it from you.

Mary Sue: How did it go?
Cassandra:
Not well. He's in a real state.
Mary Sue:
What happened?
Cassandra:
I need to get him out of there. The staff are crooked and the prisoners are horrible!
Mary Sue:
How are you going to do that?
Cassandra:
I'm going to go and see the family solicitor first thing tomorrow morning. Hopefully he'll be able to help.

Cassandra: How about you? What have you been up to today?
Mary Sue:
I did my weekly clean of your house, but Bella didn't want me there.
Cassandra:
Why? It's not like she's done any cleaning.
Mary Sue:
Cassandra... I think you should give her a chance.
Cassandra:
What!? Why?
Mary Sue:
We had a talk and she's really sorry that she went.
Cassandra:
An apology isn't enough. I'm not too bothered that she missed three years of my life, it's more about Alex. Where was she when he became a teenager? Where was she when he started to become a man? Off around the world with another man, that's where!
Mary Sue:
She said that she's going to tell Alex where she went. I think he'll forgive her, so if your only mad at her for Alex then you won't have a reason to be anymore.
Cassandra:
Ok, maybe I am mad at her for missing part of my life. She missed my wedding!
Mary Sue:
It was a failed wedding. It's not like it matters. She'll be here for your real wedding.

Cassandra: She missed the last three years of dad's life!
Mary Sue:
I know, and that's the one thing that she can't make up for, but she didn't know he was going to die when she went, and it's not like Mortimer can be upset about it now, is it?
Cassandra:
I can't believe you just said that! Just because he's dead now doesn't mean that he wasn't upset about her not being here! He's not here to be angry at her, but I am! I will never forgive her for what she did, and when I've told Alex neither will he! Now, as a friend, I hope your not going to forgive her either.
Mary Sue:
Cassandra, please don't tell me what to do. When I had a talk with her today, she was really upset. I know that she's sorry for everything. I just want to give her a second chance.
Cassandra:
Then you can stay away from me and Alex! If your siding with her then your no longer a friend of ours. I'm going home and I'm chucking her out!

Mary Sue: Please don't be like this.
Cassandra:
I'm sorry Mary, but I can't be your friend, when your hers. Not after what she did, to everyone, including you. Say goodbye to the girls for me, and wish them good look with University.
Mary Sue:
Cassandra, please... you don't need to do this.
Cassandra:
I do. I really like being friends with you, but it's a matter of me or her. Let me know when you've decided.

Bella: Finally. I was getting worried. I didn't think you'd be aloud to visit Don all day. How did it go?
Cassandra:
Get out.
Bella:
What?
Cassandra:
Get out!

Cassandra: Out!
Bella:
Cassandra, don't push me! I'm your mother!
Cassandra:
You stopped being my mother the day you left. Now get out or I'll push you out!

Bella: Don't you dare lock that door! Cassandra, it's December. I can't stay out here. It's freezing! Let me in!
Cassandra:
Maybe Mary will let you stay, now that you've stolen her from me!
Bella:
Just let me in!

Mary Sue: Hi Bella.
Bella:
Are you waiting for someone?
Mary Sue:
Yes, you. Cassandra said she was going to chuck you out. You better come in. I'm afraid the sofa will have to do.
Bella:
Thanks Mary.
