Pleasantview - Series 1 - Episode 06 - Misunderstood

The Broke family is often a forgotten about family of Pleasantview, but defiantly not the quietest.
Brandi: DUSTIN!

Dustin: Get out! You can't just walk in.. I could of been naked!
Brandi
: I don't give a damn, just get dressed.. the bus is here already!
Dustin:
I'm not going.
Brandi:
You are! I'm going to get in serious trouble if you miss anymore school!
Dustin:
I don't care.

Brandi: Oh great, it's gone! Why does he always have to do this to me? I haven't got the money to keep paying for a taxi every time he misses the bus.

Dustin: I'm up now! Happy?
Brandi:
I'll never be happy with you behaving the way do! Why can't you just be good like the other children?
Dustin:
Shut up!
Brandi:
Stop telling me to shut up! I'm your mother! I tell you to shut up! Now, get dressed.
Dustin:
I've already told you, I'm not going.
Brandi:
Were going to see your fathers grave. We were going to go when you came home, but since your 'not going' we might as well go now while Beau's at school.
Dustin:
I'm not coming.
Brandi:
He died five years ago today!
Dustin:
So, am I supposed to be sympathetic? How come Beau get's out of it?
Brandi:
Beau didn't know him! I was only 3 months pregnant for gods sake!
Dustin:
He was still his father, unless you were sleeping around again.
Brandi:
I've told you not to talk about that.
Dustin:
Everyone knows mother, you've nearly overtaken Bella Goth in the hor rankings.
Brandi:
Don't talk about me like that!
Dustin:
I'm just passing on what everyone else is saying.
Brandi:
Well don't! Just get dressed!
Dustin:
I'm not coming!

Skip: Hey son, you ok?
Dustin:
Yes daddy, I'm fine.
Skip: It's nearly bedtime, but as mummy's out I thought we could maybe watch TV together. Would you like that?
Dustin: Yeah!
Skip: Come on then buddy.

Dustin: Daddy, this is fun, mummy never lets me have pizza.
Skip:
Yeah, well don't be telling her about it son.
Dustin:
It's our secret daddy.
Skip:
Yeah, our little secret.
(Knock on door).
Skip:
That must be your mother. She's was back sooner than I thought. Quick, go and clean your teeth and get to bed.
Dustin:
Ok, I'll run!
Skip:
Good boy.

Brandi: Hi sweetie.
Skip:
What are you wearing!? What's with all the makeup?
Brandi:
Oh don't start Skip.
Skip:
I thought you went to Bella's house?
Brandi:
I did.
Skip:
Looking like that!? You look like a tart!
Brandi:
I just wanted to look good for once Skip, is it such a big deal?
Skip:
Are you seeing someone else?
Brandi:
No, of course not!
Skip:
I don't believe you. You've been going out more and more recently. Your seeing someone else!
Brandi:
I'm not, I swear!

Skip: Your lieing!

Dustin: What now?
Brandi:
I just came to see if you were ok.
Dustin:
I'm fine! You don't care about me anyway!
Brandi:
Dustin, your getting worse everyday. I'm worried about you.
Dustin:
What are you on about?
Brandi:
Loosing dad obviously had a lasting affect on you. You started behaving like this ever since he died.
Dustin:
You think I'm upset about him!? I don't care about him! I'm glad he's dead!
Brandi:
Dustin, you don't mean that.
Dustin:
I do! If he hadn't died in that pool accident I would of killed him!
Brandi:
Don't say things like that! Your just upset. Come on, get dressed. Lets go to his grave.
Dustin:
If it'll shut you up I'll come!
Brandi:
Thank you Dustin.
Dustin:
I'm only doing it to shut you up!

Dustin: He's been been beating her up for years. I've got to put a stop to it...

Chris: Are you sure you want to kill him though? What if you get caught?
Dustin:
I won't, I've figured it all out. I'm going to make it look like an accident. Make it look like he drowned in the pool.
Chris:
What do you need my help for then?
Dustin:
I just need something to give him cramp and make it so he can't get out.
Chris:
I can't think of anything.
Dustin:
You've got to help me! Think!
Chris:
Well... I've got these pills that will bring on muscle spasms. He should drown in no time.
Dustin:
Ok, give them to me!
Chris:
I don't know, these aren't cheap.
Dustin:
I don't care how much they cost! I'll steal the money if I have to.
Chris:
No, just take them, but remember, you didn't get them from me.
Dustin:
You know you can trust me. What do I do with them?
Chris:
Just slip them in his drink. Good luck.
Dustin:
Cheers mate.

Brandi: Thanks for coming Dustin.
Dustin:
This is so boring!
Brandi:
It's is your fathers grave!
Dustin:
Never!
Brandi:
Come on, help me tend to it.
Dustin:
How?
Brandi:
Trim the grass, give it a wash, put some fresh flowers out...
Dustin:
You do all that every time you come here?
Brandi:
Of course... because I loved him, and so did you.
Dustin:
No I didn't!

Skip: Dustin, I've got really bad pains!
Dustin:
Good.
Skip:
What!? Help me get out!
Dustin:
No.
Skip:
What?
Dustin:
I'm sick of you hurting her dad!
Skip:
What? ... Dustin, just help me!

Brandi: Of course you loved him! He was your father!
Dustin:
You loved him even though he used to hit you?
Brandi:
What? You knew about that?
Dustin:
Of course I knew, it was going on since I was about six!
Brandi:
Your father didn't know his own strength... he didn't want to hurt me.
Dustin:
Mum, I don't believe that, and deep down, neither do you.

Skip: Dustin! DUSTIN! No.. Dustin! Nooooooo!

Brandi: (sighs).
Taxi Driver:
Where to miss?
Brandi:
YPU.
Taxi Driver:
Youngsters Psych...?
Brandi:
Shh!
Taxi Driver:
Oh... right. Hop in then.
Brandi: Drop me off around the corner from it.
Taxi Driver: Rightio.

Dustin: Where are we going? I said I'd come to the cemetery, not a tour of Pleasantview!
Brandi:
Were almost there.
Dustin:
I've never even knew this part of the neighbourhood existed.
Brandi:
It's a secluded area.
Dustin:
Well where are we going?
Brandi:
You'll see in a minute!

Brandi: Just keep up!
Dustin:
I'm trying, your walking too fast!

Brandi: Ok, were here.
Dustin:
We are? Youngsters Psychiatric unit.. mum, no!
Brandi:
Please Dustin. Just come inside and have a chat with someone.
Dustin:
No!

Dustin: Get away from me!
Dr Andrews:
You must be Dustin.
Dustin:
Mum, don't let this garden fool you, this is a bad place! I'm not going inside!

Dustin: You've set me up!
Brandi:
I'm sorry Dustin. It's for your own good. You might not have to stay here long. Just until your better.
Dustin:
Stay!? You said I was going to have a chat!
Brandi:
Dustin, your not well.
Dustin:
I'm not mad!
Dr Smith:
No one's saying you are Dustin.
Dustin:
I'm just misunderstood!
Dr Andrews:
What ever your problem is, were going to make you better.
Dustin:
Stay away from me!
Dr Smith:
(sighs) Sedate him.

Dr Andrews: Sorry that you had to see that.
Brandi:
It's fine.
Dr Smith:
It's a shame, because now he's going to miss the guided tour.
Brandi:
Do you put them to sleep often?
Dr Smith:
No, of course not. We were just worried he was going to run off.
Brandi:
I see.
Dr Smith:
Follow me inside and I'll give you the tour. You three, get him to bed.

Dr Smith: I'm Dr Smith by the way. We spoke on the phone.
Brandi:
I remember. I'm so glad you found him a place.
Dr Smith:
Sorry it took so long. We only have the room for 6 patients at a time, so they each get plenty of time from us.
Brandi:
How many doctors are there?
Dr Smith:
It's the four of us you saw outside. Dr Andrews, he's the bald white guy, has the most experience of all of us, and I'm sure he'll get to the bottom of Dustin's behavioural problems.
Brandi:
I hope so.
Dr Smith: The other bald guy, Dr Hand, has just moved to the area, but is also well trained. The youngest is Dr Andrews son. He's being trained as a psychiatrist.
Brandi: It sounds like a great team.
Dr Smith: It is.

Dr Smith: This is the entertainment room. The children will have a while each day in here to read a book, play of game of chess, paint or play the piano.
Brandi:
Dustin's going to miss his game console!
Dr Smith:
It's probably for the best. Video games do nothing but fill children's minds with rubbish.
Brandi:
Yeah..

Dr Smith: Finally, this is one of the bedrooms. Every room has it's own bathroom.
Brandi:
Oh, that's good. Dustin will like that. He usually has to fight with his brother for it.
Dr Smith:
(laughs).
Brandi:
Thanks again for taking him in. I'll have the first monthly payment ready for you soon.
Dr Smith:
Take your time. I know it's a lot of money. I'm afraid we've knocked off as much of the price as possible though. We can always arrange small weekly payments if that would be easier?
Brandi:
Yes, that would be great.
Dr Smith:
Hopefully we'll have him out soon so it won't cost you too much, but his treatment is, of course, more important.
Brandi:
Yes, I know. Thanks again.
Dr Smith:
Would you like to see your son before you go? He'll still be asleep but should come round soon.
Brandi:
I think it's better that I leave. He'll just be mad at me.
Dr Smith:
Ok, I'll show you to the exit.
Brandi:
Thank you.

Dustin: What the..? No.. she couldn't have! No! How could she!?

Dr Andrews: Just relax Dustin, everything's going to be alright.
