Pleasantview - Series 2 - Episode 11 - Three Months Later

Welcome back to Pleasantview. It's been three months since your last visit and it's time to catch up with the residents. Before you left Kaylynn Langerak, the future wife of Daniel Pleasant found out that Daniel's heart still belonged with his ex-wife, Mary-Sue. Shortly after telling Daniel she was pregnant Kaylynn ran from the church and out into the road, where a surprised driver couldn't brake in time. Despite serious injuries Kaylynn and her baby are still alive in the local infirmary...

Daniel: How's she doing?
Doctor:
She's still in a deep coma.
Daniel:
(Sighs) And the baby?
Doctor:
It's doing fine.
Daniel:
When's she going to wake up?
Doctor:
There's no signs of her waking up at the moment, but don't give up hope. People have woken up from comas years later.
Daniel:
Isn't there anything we can do?
Doctor:
No. All we can do is hope and pray.
Daniel:
That's not really my style doctor. I was thinking of maybe transferring her to Sim City general. They've got better facilities, and might be able to do more for her.
Doctor:
Our facilities are fine for monitoring both of them and keeping the baby alive. Nothing more needs to be done. Nothing can get her back to us any quicker.
Daniel:
What about if we were to remove the baby?
Doctor:
The baby's still too young to survive outside the womb.
Daniel:
That's not what I meant.
Doctor:
Surely you don't mean an abortion!?

Daniel: I've been thinking about it for a long time. It can't be easy for her to fight with the baby inside her. She's putting all her energy into caring for the baby, and isn't concentrating any on waking up.
Doctor:
Were providing all the baby's food directly. Kaylynn's body isn't under any strain.
Daniel:
I still think we should consider it.
Doctor:
That's your child! It's also the mothers right to make a decision like that.
Daniel:
Unless the mothers life is at risk.
Doctor:
Two doctors would still have to agree.
Daniel:
Then get them to agree.
Doctor:
It wouldn't help her Daniel! Please, just go home, and get some rest. You were only here a few hours ago. Your tired and your not thinking straight!
Daniel:
I'm thinking perfectly straight. I want her back! It's my fault she's here like this.
Doctor:
I don't care why she's here Daniel. My priority is caring for her and the baby. At the moment I believe we can keep them both alive so therefore I refuse to do anything drastic.
Daniel:
Then I'd like to get a transfer arranged straight away.

On boxing day the Pleasants living room was destroyed by a fire, started by faulty Christmas tree lights. Ever since, Mary-Sue has lived with Cassandra Goth, but with the house repairs now complete Mary-Sue will have to go back to living alone while her daughters are away at university.

Mary: This is nothing like my old living room!
Cassandra:
It's close.
Mary:
No it's not. I showed the insurance company photographs and said I wanted it exactly the same! Can't they get anything right!?
Cassandra:
You can always change things round a bit. They've tried there best. They've probably stopped making you old wall paper and some of the older furniture.
Mary:
Fair enough, but I'm sure they still make wall TV's! It's all about saving money to them! Well it's not good enough and I'm going to get on the phone right now to tell them that!
Cassandra:
Will you stop taking your aggression out on other people!?
Mary:
What!?

Cassandra: You've been in a bad mood since the wedding. Will you just forget about Daniel!? He's finally made his mind up, so get over it! I'm glad your moving back in here, because I'll finally be able to get some peace and quiet! You've been going around shouting and slamming doors none stop and I'm sick of it!
Mary-Sue:
I expected you to understand. I've lost the man I love to another woman!
Cassandra:
You don't even love him though! Your just holding on because you don't want to be alone!
Mary-Sue:
Get out! Go on!
Cassandra:
Why can't you just admit your lonely?
Mary-Sue: Out!
Cassandra: Fine!

At Pleasantview Police station a devoted team continue to search for Bella Goth. DC Fisher and DC Peters have made a temporary transfer to Pleasantview in the hope that Bella will return. After interrogating the stations staff for weeks the detectives never found out how Bella escaped.

DC Peters: Any sightings in Veronaville?
DC Fisher: There was one, but it turned out the lady was just seeing Bella on the news reflected in her window.
DC Peters:
(Laughs) There's nothing in Strangetown either.
DC Fisher:
I really think Bella's left the country.
DC Peters:
How can she with all airports and ports looking out for her?
DC Fisher:
She could of left before we put out the national search for her.
DC Peters:
I suppose it's possible, but let's not give up hope. With all the notices on TV and in the newspapers, if she is still here she won't be able to hide for much longer.
DC Fisher: One thing I don't get is how Bella's surviving. As far as we know she didn't have any money when she left.
DC Peters: Bella's a clever woman. She'll be getting money somehow.

TV: Police are still searching for 39 year old Bella Goth. Bella was being held in police custody on the 23rd December last year, after admitting to brutally murdering her boyfriend with a letter opener during a visit to Japan. Bella managed to escape from her cell and has now been on the run for over three months. Bella may have changed her appearance since this photograph was taken. If you see Bella please call our hotline immediately.  There is a reward of £70,000 available for a sighting leading to Bella's arrest. Do not approach Bella under any circumstances. She's dangerous and may be carrying a weapon.
Alexander:
(Laughs).

Alexander: (Laughs)
Cassandra:
What's so funny?
Alexander:
Another message about mum on TV. There saying she's dangerous now!
Cassandra:
She is! She stabbed a man to death with a letter opener.
Alexander:
He might of deserved it.
Cassandra:
No one deserves that. I don't want you watching that TV anymore. Now I know why dad never let us have one.
Alexander:
You can't stop me.
Cassandra:
I can, because I bought it!
Alexander:
I would of paid if you'd let me near the money dad left me.
Cassandra:
Dad said you couldn't have it until your eighteen. I'm obeying his orders.
Alexander:
You always were daddy's little girl.
Cassandra:
You were always mummy's little boy, and you still are even though she's a cold blooded killer! I want you to lay the table while I make dinner, and then I want you to get your homework done for tomorrow. After that you can have an early night.
Alexander:
What's put you in such a bad mood?
Cassandra:
Nothing! Now do as your told!

For over two months builders have been building a two storey extension on the Lothario house. During this time Don, Dina and Jack have been living at Nina's house next door..

Nina: Don, can you please pick up some of Jacks toys!? I'm sick of stepping over them.
Don:
I would, but I'm just off to work.
Nina:
You always use that as an excuse.
Don:
It's not an excuse. I always am off to work. Extensions don't pay for themselves.
Nina:
So you keep saying. Well off you go then, and don't be bringing any friends home with you again! This house is crowded enough.
Nina:
Sorry Nina, we'll be out of your hair soon.

Dina: The builders say they'll be two more weeks at the most.
Nina:
That's builder speak for a month then.
Dina:
(Laughs) No, I think they really will be done soon. Jacks room is completely finished. It looks great. There just finishing off downstairs now.
Nina:
Oh good.
Dina:
I'll put some toys away in a minute... I think he's about to pee.

Dina: No, maybe not.
Nina:
At least he can walk now.
Don:
He still hasn't said anything though.
Nina:
I thought you were going to work?
Don:
I am, see you tonight sweetie. Love you loads.
Dina:
Bye babe. Love you too.
Nina:
Will someone please get me a sick bag?
Dina: Your just jealous sis!
Nina: I would be of a real man, but not Don.
Don: Ha ha! Very funny.
Nina: Do I need to push you out that door?
Don: I'm going, I'm going. Bye everyone.

Lilith and Angela Pleasant have enjoyed a successful few months at Sim State University. Angela has kept Lilith on track with her studies, by threatening to tell their mum about Lilith's drug taking before Christmas. However, for the past two months Angela has been hiding her own secret...

Lilith: Angela?
Angela:
Oh crap.
Jack:
It's ok, she's knocking next door.
Angela:
But she might come and look for me here next!

Lilith: Ah Jack. I was just about to come and ask if Angela was in their with you. She's not in her room. I'm guessing she's not in yours either though, because your in your underwear!
Jack:
(Laughs) Yeah, I haven't seen her today yet. I've been having a lie in.
Lilith:
Ok, thanks.
Jack:
See you later.

Lilith: Have you seen Angela?
Fran:
Erm.. no.
Lilith:
You don't sound too sure.
Fran:
I was just trying to remember whether the last time I saw her was yesterday or today.
Lilith:
Oh right. Well if you see her tell her I want her. Our mum's on the phone, and she's fallen out with her best friend. Angela's so much better at talking to her when she's upset.
Fran:
Ok, I'll tell her if I see her.
Lilith:
Thanks Fran.

Fran: You and Jack!?
Angela:
What?
Fran:
I saw you running out his room. Are you two going out?
Angela:
No! I was just borrowing something.
Fran:
Oh really, what?
Angela:
Erm... a pencil.
Fran:
(Laughs) It's ok, I wont tell Lilith. I guessed it was a secret when I saw you running out his room when she was looking for you. Why can't you tell her though?
Angela:
She makes fun of me with this sort of thing.
Fran:
That's what sisters are for.
Angela:
I don't want her knowing yet.
Fran:
Fair enough. I wont tell her.
Angela:
Cheers.

For the Broke family things get more difficult every day. Paying for Dustin's treatment in the local physiciatric unit leaves very little benefit money for Brandi and Beau.

Dr Smith: What gave you your racial hatred Dustin? Did something happen in the past that made you against people from different nationalities. Does it scare you to see how were all different?
Dustin:
I've had enough of this rubbish! I'm the way I am because I am! I just want to get out of here now! I'm not mad!
Dr Smith:
Your filled with anger.
Dustin:
Stop talking in that way! I just want to go home! Ok, so I played up a little for my mum, but so what!? Don't all children?
Dr Smith:
That's enough for today Dustin. Please return to your room.
Dustin:
You said I could spend some time in the recreation room after we had a chat!
Dr Smith:
Your privileges will be taken away if you do not behave appropriately.
Dustin:
Jesus! This place is like a prison!
Dr Smith:
Dustin, please return to your room.
Dustin:
Fine!

At the Dreamer household little has changed. Dirk has continued to hide his secret from his father, and Darren has continued to work hard to keep Dirk happy, but something as small as a phone call can change everything...

Darren: Your joking!? Bankrupt? Oh Peter, I'm so sorry.... They've taken the house? Well where are you living!? ... The car!? I can't have you and Sam living in a car. It's going to be a squeeze, and Dirk probably won't like the idea, but get that car heading in this direction. Your coming to live with us.... No, there's no need to thank me. I am your brother after all... How long do you think it will take to get here? ... Ok, make sure you get plenty of sleep and don't drive too much at night. I'll see you on Friday afternoon.

As day turns to night in Pleasantview each resident continues to live their life in their own way. In the local hospital Daniel Pleasant hasn't left Kaylynn's side all day.

Doctor: Are you still here? I told you to go home and rest.
Daniel:
I told you to get Kaylynn transferred.
Doctor:
She's not in a fit state to transfer.
Daniel:
Your lieing.
Doctor:
Daniel, have you talked to anyone else about aborting the baby?
Daniel:
No.
Doctor:
Well, I suggest you do. They might make you see some sense! I know you love Kaylynn, but I don't understand why you'd want to abort the baby when were keeping them both stable.
Daniel:
I don't want Kaylynn to be 'stable'... I want her back.
Doctor:
I know, but making such a drastic decision is a stupid thing to do right now. Your emotional, so I can see why you've had these thoughts, but you really need to talk to someone else about this. Someone who cares about you.
Daniel:
And who exactly can I talk to? I haven't got any close friends, and I can hardly talk to my daughters about this sort of thing.
Doctor:
You can talk to your ex-wife.
Daniel:
(Laughs).
Doctor:
I'm being serious. Now go, or I'll have to enforce visiting hours.

Mary-Sue: I'm sorry too Cassandra. I guess I have been a bit grumpy recently, and your right, I should forget about Daniel. There's no point in being upset about it now, is there? From now on Daniel is out of my life.
(Doorbell rings)
Mary-Sue:
Someone's at the door so I'll have to go, but I'll come round and see you tomorrow. Bye for now.

Mary-Sue: Daniel, what on earth are you doing here? You know the girls are at university.
Daniel:
I wanted to speak to you.
Mary-Sue:
What for?
Daniel:
The doctor said I should talk to someone who cares, and your the only person I could think of.
Mary-Sue:
You better come in then.

Daniel: They've done a good job in here.
Mary-Sue:
I suppose it's ok. What is it that you wanted to talk about?
Daniel:
Well, it's Kaylynn. She isn't getting any better. I thought she was maybe under too much strain with the baby.
Mary-Sue:
What did the doctor say?
Daniel:
He said she wasn't under any extra strain, but I thought it would still be worth a try if we removed the baby.
Mary-Sue:
What!? You'd kill your child to save your girl friend?
Daniel:
I love her, and I want her back. What if she never wakes up?
Mary-Sue:
Look, in a couple of months they'll be able to remove the baby and let it live. Then you'll be able to see if Kaylynn improves. Having a pregnant woman in a coma must be a pretty rare case. No one really knows what will happen.
Daniel:
Exactly. Keeping the baby may kill her!

Mary-Sue: Daniel, the doctors know more about it than you, so just leave them to it. You look exhausted. Get some rest. Kaylynn doesn't need you by her side every minute of the day.
Daniel:
I just want to be there if she wakes up.
Mary-Sue:
I'm sure they'd call you if there was any improvement.
Daniel:
It's my fault she's lying there Mary.
Mary-Sue:
No it isn't. It's nobody's fault! It was an accident.
Daniel:
I chased her.
Mary-Sue:
Because you realised you really did love her when she told you she was pregnant. Your going to have your third child Daniel. You don't want to loose either of them now. Your just having silly thoughts because your not sleeping enough.
Daniel:
I don't like sleeping alone in Kaylynn's house.
Mary-Sue:
I know how you feel.
Daniel:
Of course. Were a couple of loners right now.
Mary-Sue:
I suppose you could sleep here on the sofa if you wanted to.
Daniel:
I don't think that's a very good idea.
Mary-Sue:
Why not? Were nothing more than friends now.
Daniel:
In that case, thank you.
