Pleasantview - Series 4 - Episode 34 - Kidnapped

John: Just calm down, I'm sure Jennifer didn't mean to worry you both. She probably just took Sophie out for a walk.. she's probably heading back as we speak.
Kaylynn:
She hung up on us!
John:
Maybe her battery died? Did you try calling again?
Daniel:
We can't get through.
John:
Exactly. There's nothing to worry about.
Kaylynn:
I don't know where my little girl is! of course there's something to worry about!
John:
But she's not alone. She's with Jennifer.
Kaylynn:
Who just took her without our knowledge! She's kidnapped Sophie.

John: (Sighs) She wouldn't, she's not like that.. oh god, maybe she would. I'm so sorry.
Daniel:
What?
John:
It's my fault. She asked me if we could have another child, and I said no..
Kaylynn:
Another?
John:
We had a daughter, Lucy. She died.. just before we came here. She was murdered.
Daniel:
Oh my god.
John:
And... today would of been her birthday...
Kaylynn:
Ok, that's it! I'm phoning the police! Jennifer can't be thinking straight. She's some sort psycho!
John:
You cant. Jennifer isn't going to harm Sophie! We just need to find them ourselves.
Daniel:
She could be anywhere John! She could of packed her bags and taken Sophie to another country by now! I'm sorry, but we need to call the police. Our daughter is missing, and we have to find her.

Jennifer: # Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday, happy birthday dear Lucy... happy birthday to you. I love you Lucy. I love you so much.

Jennifer: Brrr, it's chilly out here... mind you it's chilly in there too. I think we better find somewhere more permanent and preferably warm (laughs).

Jennifer: I think we'll head south for the winter.
Sophie:
(Starts crying).
Jennifer:
Aww, I know you're cold sweetheart. The bus wont be long... just a few minutes.

Cassandra: So, what is it you wanted to talk about?
Tina:
It's about Tony...

Ronald: Cassandra, was that Tony back with the test.. oh, hello.
Tina:
Test?
Cassandra:
Erm.. Tina, do you think Tony would make a good father?
Tina:
You're pregnant!?
Ronald:
She might be.
Tina:
Oh my god.
Ronald:
You sound even more shocked than we were!
Tina:
Cassandra, you can't have this baby, not when it's Tony's.
Cassandra:
What?
Tina:
Cassandra, Tony's...

Tony: ...back. I'm back. Tina, what are you doing here?
Tina:
Erm..
Tony:
Well if you wouldn't mind leaving, we have something to take care of. My shift doesn't start for another hour yet.
Cassandra:
No, wait, don't leave. What is it you wanted to say?
Tina:
It doesn't matter. It can wait. I'll see you later at work Tony.
Tony:
Bye.
Ronald:
I'll see you out.

Cassandra: She said I shouldn't have your baby.. why would she say that?
Tony:
I.. I don't know babe.
Cassandra:
She said there was something she had to tell me. Is there something you're keeping from me? Something to do with work?
Tony:
Of course not. I tell you everything.

Ronald: He's sleeping with someone else, isn't he?
Tina:
What?
Ronald:
Honey, I know when a guy's not to be trusted. Tony reeks of guilt. He's up to something behind Cassandra's back, and I know it.
Tina:
You're a bright guy.
Ronald:
And oh my god, you're the other women!
Tina:
Shh, keep it down!
Ronald:
Why? You were about to tell her until Tony walked in. Are you scared of him?
Tina:
No, I'm scared of losing him to her.
Ronald:
You're only his bit on the side love.
Tina:
Ha! I think you'll find it's the other way round.
Ronald:
Oh? But you let him sleep with Cassandra?
Tina:
He's leaving her for me. A baby will complicate things, but once that's out of the way, he's leaving her and we're getting married.
Ronald:
You're leaving in a fantasy land.
Tina:
We'll see about that.

Kaylynn: Our daughters missing, and they send one police man who looks like he's barely out of school!
Charlie:
With respect Miss, Sophie was left with a family friend, and she's only been missing a couple of hours.
Kaylynn:
But it's going to be dark soon and Jennifer's a head case!
Daniel:
Forgive my wife, but we're concerned Jennifer isn't herself officer.
John:
My wife and I lost our daughter.
Charlie:
Oh, where have you looked so far? John, can you contact friends and relatives where Jennifer might of taken Sophie? I'm going to go back to the station and organise some help.
Kaylynn:
(Sobs) She's going to be miles away by now.
Charlie:
Chances are Jennifer wont have gone far at all. Did she take any of Sophie's things?

Kaylynn: No, nothings gone. Sophie's going to be hungry and tired by now. She'll be cold and scared. I need to find her!
Charlie:
We will find her. If Jennifer took nothing for Sophie she's going to have to buy supplies. We'll circulate a picture of Sophie to all shops in the area... and surrounding towns, and someone is bound to see her. We'll find your daughter Mrs Pleasant.
Kaylynn:
She might of already brought everything she needs.
John:
But Sophie still would of been seen. We'll know where Jen was even if she's moved on.
Charlie:
Exactly, we can track her. Mr Burb, how does your wife access money?
John:
She pays for everything on card.
Charlie:
Then we'll monitor the use. Jennifer isn't going to be thinking about being hidden, she'll just want to care for Sophie. She should be fairly easy to find.

Ronald: Cassandra, I need to tell you something.
Cassandra:
It'll have to wait, we're about to do the test.
Ronald:
But...
Cassandra:
In fact, would you mind going out for a bit? We want some space to do this.
Ronald:
But I need...
Cassandra:
Ron, please!
Ronald:
(Sighs) I'll talk to you tonight.

Tony: Ok babe, you ready to pee on this stick?
Cassandra:
As ready as I'll ever be.
Tony:
Well, you know I'd do it for you if I could, but I don't reckon that'd work.
Cassandra:
(Laughs).

Stephen: Hi Jen.
Jennifer:
Hi Stephen.
Stephen:
Can you believe there were actually people out in the pool earlier, in this weather!?
Jennifer:
(Laughs) Fools, eh? Listen, I've come in to do the bank run but I've forgotten my safe keys. Can I borrow yours for a second?
Stephen:
Yeah sure. Here you go.
Jennifer:
Thanks.
Stephen:
Are you coming back here after the bank?
Jennifer:
No, not today. John's supposed to be here really.
Stephen
He was earlier, but he got a phone call and went off somewhere.
Jennifer:
That sounds like John. Well you're in charge for the rest of the day in that case.
Stephen:
Ok, no problem. See you.
Jennifer:
Bye.

Tony: Well, what's the result?
Cassandra:
I'm not pregnant.
Tony:
Oh.. well that's good, isn't it?
Cassandra:
Is it?
Tony:
Come on babe, a planned pregnancy is far better than one that's unplanned.
Cassandra:
I suppose. I was kind of warming up to the idea though.
Tony:
Well, one day, eh?
Cassandra:
Yeah, maybe.
Tony:
Come here, let me give you a hug.

Tony: Aww, your so disappointed, aren't you?
Cassandra:
I just convinced myself I was... I blame Ronald for getting me so excited.
Tony:
He is extremely excitable. Do you think he's maybe..
Cassandra:
Gay? Without a doubt.
Tony:
(Laughs).

Lilith: You're going out for dinner with Andrew, your assistant!?
Mary-Sue:
Yes.
Lilith:
Why!?
Mary-Sue:
Because I asked him.
Lilith:
He's like.. half your age!
Mary-Sue:
Lilith, people can go out as friends you know.
Lilith:
Mum, you've never been out with a man as a friend before. You don't fool me.
Mary-Sue:
Ok, perhaps I fancy him a bit.
Lilith:
(Laughs) Mum! Do you think he likes you?
Mary-Sue:
Well he didn't refuse dinner, did he?
Lilith:
Maybe he's just hungry.
Mary-Sue:
Lilith, don't be so cheeky. Now get out, I need to sort this facial hair out.
Lilith:
(Laughs) I was only joking about you having a beard the other day, you know.
Mary-Sue:
Hmm.
Lilith:
Mum?
Mary-Sue:
What now?
Lilith:
Do you think he dies his pubes blonde too?
Mary-Sue:
Out! Now!

Angela: How are you feeling?
Dustin:
Not too bad. I could do with another coffee though... or some more chocolate.
Angela:
Well, either is better than drugs. I'll go and make you a coffee and get you some chocolate.
Dustin:
Thanks Angela. I couldn't do this without you... or your family. I owe you, and that's why I'm going to keep that creep Jack away from you. He'll get tired of trying eventually.
Angela:
I hope so.

Kaylynn: Anything?
Daniel:
(Shakes head).
Kaylynn:
(Sobs) Where did you look?
Daniel:
Everywhere. Haven't the police called?
Kaylynn:
Only to say that they can't trace her. She's not accessed her bank account.
Daniel:
But she must of got money from somewhere.
Kaylynn:
Maybe she had this all planned.
Daniel:
No, she didn't know she'd be looking after Sophie.
Kaylynn:
(Sighs) Sophie could be anywhere right now.
Daniel:
And it's all my fault. I'm so sorry.

Kaylynn: It's not your fault. You had no way of knowing what sick thoughts were going through Jennifer's head. But Sophie is going to be fine. I just know it. We've got to hold each other together now. We can't afford to fall apart. They cant of gone far, and sooner or later Jennifer's going to give up her whereabouts and the police will be right behind her.
Daniel:
I hope so.
Kaylynn:
No, we know so. We'll have her home soon.
Daniel:
I just wish it was sooner.

Andrew: Hello Mayor, you look very nice.
Mary-Sue:
Thank you Andrew, so do you, but for one night please don't call me Mayor.
Andrew:
Oh, ok Mayor... Mary-Sue.
Mary-Sue:
That's better.
Andrew:
So, did you see if the girls wanted to come?
Mary-Sue:
Well I asked, but they'd already eaten when I got in.
Andrew:
Oh, so it's just the two of us.
Mary-Sue:
Indeed.

Lilith: (Whispers) Wow, mum is one crafty lady!
Angela:
Although I'm a bit disappointed that we could of gone out for dinner but weren't actually invited!
Mary-Sue:
(Shouting) Everyone, were off now, I'll see you later on.
Lilith:
Ok mum, have fun!
Andrew:
After you Mary-Sue.
Dustin:
(Sniggers).

Tina: I've been waiting for you.
Ronald:
Oh great, aren't I lucky!
Tina:
Have you told Cassandra yet?
Ronald:
Not yet.
Tina:
Well I've got the all clear from Tony, Cassandra isn't pregnant..
Ronald:
She's not pregnant?
Tina:
Nope. So now's your chance, while Tony's at work. Go in and tell her.
Ronald:
Oh I get it. You want me to do yours and Tony's dirty work?
Tina:
It'll be better coming from you.
Ronald:
Well, she needs to know, and if you're not going to do it I will. She's going to be distraught.
Tina:
Another reason for you to tell her, she'll have a shoulder to cry on. She's not going to want to cry on Tony's or mine, is she?
Ronald:
I guess not. I'm going to tell her, but you just make sure she never sees Tony again.
Tina:
Deal.

Ronald: Cassandra?
Cassandra:
(Crying) I'm up here.
Ronald:
Are you ok? What's wrong?

Cassandra: I'm pregnant.
Ronald:
What? But.. Tina said..
Cassandra:
Ah, Tina.. the fact she knows persuades me even more that Tony's sleeping with her.
Ronald:
You know!?
Cassandra:
You do!?
Ronald:
I guessed.
Cassandra:
I'm positive he's cheating on me with her, so I told him I wasn't pregnant. I lied about the text results.
Ronald:
You did the right thing. That man doesn't deserve a child. Tina told me that you were actually his bit on the side, and that she was his girlfriend. I've got a feeling they've been together for a long time. I'm so sorry.
Cassandra:
(Sighs) Don't be. Whatever goes right in my life? I should of expected this. The only good thing that's happened recently was you showing up on my doorstep.
Ronald:
I'm so glad I did, because you obviously need me.
Cassandra:
(Laughs) I do.
Ronald:
Well that's good, because I need you too.

Ronald: I've felt so alone in the world, ever since my mum died. I cant get myself a partner no matter how hard I try..
Cassandra:
We can find men together.
Ronald:
(Laughs) That would be good fun.
Cassandra:
Although, it's probably going to be harder for me, not many men will want to take on another guys child.
Ronald:
You'd be surprised, but in the meantime I'll help... I could move in, sell my house to raise money..
Cassandra:
Money isn't a problem Ron, but you moving in sounds good to me. I was thinking of asking you anyway.
Ronald:
Really? Well that's great! We're going to have so much fun! I love it already!
Cassandra:
(Laughs) Me too. One thing though, what about Tony?
Ronald:
I've got a feeling he'll stay away, but if he does come back we'll get rid of him somehow.
Cassandra:
Thanks Ron.. thanks for being here.
Ronald:
Thank you for letting me be here.

Andrew: Well thank you very much for a lovely evening Mary-Sue.
Mary-Sue:
You're very welcome. You work very hard I think you deserved a treat.
Andrew:
Oh come on Mary! You don't fool your daughters and you don't fool me either. I know you like me.
Mary-Sue:
Oh... I'm sorry. I don't know what I was thinking! I must be old enough to be your mother.
Andrew:
Nonsense, my mothers grey and wrinkly, and has facial hair!
Mary-Sue:
Oh.
Andrew:
I'm not sorry you like me, because the truth is I like you too, a lot.
Mary-Sue:
You do!?
Andrew: Yup, and now I'm going to kiss you...

Daniel: Mary-Sue!
Mary-Sue:
Daniel? What's wrong?
Daniel:
I just totally forgot to tell you and girls. I'm sorry. I should of come earlier. I just saw you now and thought I better tell you. You'd want to know I'm sure...
Mary-Sue:
Daniel, what is it!?
Daniel:
Sophie's been kidnapped!
Mary-Sue:
Oh my god! Why didn't you tell me!? Have you phoned the police?
Daniel:
Yes, it was Jennifer Burb who took her..
Mary-Sue:
What!? Come on, come in. I'll get the girls up. Andrew, I'll see you tomorrow in the office.
Andrew: Oh, ok. I could stay and help...
Mary-Sue: No, it's ok, see you tomorrow.
Andrew: Ok.
