Apocalypse - Episode 6 - Last Escape!

Previously on Apocalypse…

Lewis: Let’s get out of here.

Lewis:
We’re going to have to get some food sooner or later, everyone is hungry…

Beth: I know, I’m thinking now; I think there’s a diner on Walkson Street…

Katie: Look at them…
Daniel: Maybe they’ll wake up later?
Katie: They’re…dead…

Katie: I know what it’s like to want to die…

Katie: ...you punish yourself on the outside…to get the thing that’s on the inside corrupting you...killing you...
Lewis: Look…Katie…whatever is inside of you…you need to get it out. Put it away, write it down, but get rid of it so it doesn’t torture you for the rest of your life.

Lewis: Hey Katie…come on…what are you sorry for?
Katie: (sobs) I was a bitch…I’ve been a bitch.

Lewis: Do not drop anchor here; we've got to stick together.

Episode 6 – Last Escape

A famous artist once released a single titled “Heal The World”. In the song he begged the people of the world to change their ways, to save the world from destroying itself…

It’s only now we realize that the song could have been a warning; a warning to save ourselves before the earth became populated by the undead…

Lewis: Look, I know I may be trying to think ahead here but I really think we need to start moving, we’ve been here two nights now and more and more seem to find their way up here.
Beth: I was about to discuss this, I’m not sure what to do though.
Katie: Where would we go? There’s nowhere that’s safe from the creatures…
Beth: We haven’t got a radio to check of bulletins as well.
Lewis: Rupert…

Lewis: I just remembered, we never checked back on him.
Beth: We can’t afford to draw any more attention to ourselves, like you said there’s more and more making their way up here by the day.
Katie: Still we kinda owe it to him; he saved all our lives in a way.
Lewis: And his wife wasn’t in a great state when we left.
Beth: (sighs) Okay, if you guys head to Rupert’s and check on him, me, Matthew and Daniel will head to the Petrol station just outside the woods to get some fuel for the helicopter…

Beth: Either way we’re going to be out of here by tonight.

Katie: Jesus, I keep forgetting she’s not my teacher anymore.
Lewis: She’s just trying to survive in the best way she can.
Katie: I guess so.

Beth: You saw the Petrol station Matthew, how did it look?
Matthew: The street itself was full of those things, but there’s a church next door, so I think we can make it through there.
Beth: Right…

Lewis: Beth, before you go, I think we would be better taking Daniel.
Beth: Why?
Lewis: Because we’re going straight to Rupert’s and back, who knows what you and Matthew may come across.
Beth: Yeah...that’s a good idea. Keep him close though Lewis.
Lewis: Will do.

Beth: Hmm…there’s a few around the petrol station.
Matthew: I told you.
Voice: Get away from the church!

Beth: Excuse me?
Tony: What are you two doing out there, this is our sanctuary, they haven’t sussed us yet.
Beth: We’re trying to get fuel for a helicopter.
Tony: You guys have one?
Beth: Yeah, it’s in the woods up the hill.
Matthew: Is there anyone else in there?
Tony: Yeah, a couple of guys ‘n’ gals.
Beth: Will you let us in?
Tony: No, this door stays locked.
Beth: We’re not dangerous; we just need to get to the petrol station.
Tony: Sorry lady, you two could be infected.

Matthew: We’re not, honest.
Tony: Would you tell me if you were infected?
Beth: No…probably not…
Tony: Then get lost!

Matthew: What do we do now?
Beth: We do what we thought we were going to do in the first place…
Matthew: What?

Beth: We climb…

Lewis: Here we are…
Katie: Daniel, you stay in front of me and behind Lewis okay?
Daniel: Sure…

Lewis: Rupert, it’s Lewis, open up…
Katie: Just walk in Lewis…

Lewis: Rupert? Helen?

Katie: Lewis…look…

Lewis: (sighs) Oh man…I guess Rupert…
Katie: More ready than I thought…

Lewis: Yeah…

Lewis: I don’t know if he survived or not…
Katie: I think we need to search this house; he could have something useful lying around.
Lewis: I’ll check upstairs, you check the fridge.

Matthew: Call me strange, but a church with a graveyard at the back is the last place you’d go during an apocalypse.
Beth: Some may seek comfort from it…
Matthew: Watch your step Beth...
Beth: (gasps)

Matthew: (gasps) Beth!

Matthew: That was a close one.
Beth: Let’s take our time…

Katie: This radio could be useful actually…

Radio: (silence)
Katie: (sighs) Doesn’t take much for the world to fall apart…

Lewis: Looks like he took off…

Lewis: (reads) “If you’re reading this then you’ll notice I’m not there; my wife turned, the world has fallen and I’m getting as far away from it as possible. I hope you find the peace you seek. Rupert.”

Beth: There it is…
Matthew: Let’s try and climb down…
Beth: Wait!

Beth: I want to see what the situation is in that church…
Matthew: I don’t think they’d like us going in…
Beth: But we may be able to help.
Matthew: Let’s go then.

Matthew: How do we do this?
Beth: Well knocking won’t get us anywhere…let’s just walk in…

Beth: Erm…hello?

Caz: How did you get in here?
Beth: We climbed over the wall.

Matthew: In a situation like this, you can’t afford to be so picky.

Caz: Don’t speak to me like that you little…

Beth:
Let me speak to you then…

Caz: We don’t want any trouble.
Beth: Then don’t piss me off; what’s going on here?
Caz: We’re training these guys up…
Beth: Why?
Caz: They came here, after the infection…they came here.
Beth: Just them?
Caz: We came here on the second day, the place was empty.
Beth: So what’s this training all about?
Caz: We’re going to plough through the streets and kill every one of those creatures in sight…

Katie: I guess he found a way out?
Lewis: I think he just took off to find somewhere new…
Radio: …amount…people…survivors…island…

Lewis: Has there been any broadcasts?
Katie: It’s been silent until now.
Radio: …is safe…contact…towards…island…
Lewis: They’ve said “island” twice now…
Katie: They also said “Police station” and look what that lead to…
Lewis: I think we need to keep our options open at least. Rupert did something to get it working before…

Beth: It won’t work, haven’t you seen how many of those things there are?
Caz: This kind of negativity is why we don’t let outsiders in.
Beth: This isn’t negativity, its common sense; you’re leading those lads into a trap.
Caz: Why did you come in here?
Beth: Because I wanted to check what was going on, your doorman wasn’t exactly friendly.
Caz: Whatever…

Caz: Boys, take a breather okay?

Matthew: Let’s go…
Beth: Wait a second…

Beth: Would you like to get out of here?
Caz: There’s no way out…
Beth: We have a helicopter…
Caz: (gasps) Where?!
Beth: It’s in the forest, we just need some fuel from the gas station next door and we can be away.
Caz: You would be willing to take us with you?
Beth: Of course, including the doorman.
Caz: What do we do then?

Radio: island…survivors…two…
Lewis: Come on you stupid thing!
Radio: located just across the sea from the Beach Summers coast line…
Lewis: Finally!

Radio: “The police station broadcast was a fake, none of them made it. Most of the residents have made it to the Mirrorball Island. This isn’t a false broadcast; the island has food, water and shelter. If you can, make your way to the coast and find a boat along the beach, or…”(silence)

Lewis: What do you think?
Katie: I…I think it’s worth a shot…
Lewis: Same…I’m not sure where it is though…

Beth: I’m thinking if we climb over there they won’t notice us.
Caz: If you keep it quiet they won’t…
Beth: Me and Matthew will climb over, get the fuel and climb back up here…
Caz: Yeah, if they notice you, one of you can run around the front and Tony will let you in.
Beth: Okay…

Beth: Let’s take this slowly and quietly as possible right?

Lewis:
I’m trying to think now; I think the beach is behind the main city area…
Katie: So it’s behind the buildings near the police station?
Lewis: Yes, least I think anyway.

Katie: That’s good enough…

Katie: For me…

Beth: What the hell?
Matthew: Street lights have gone off too…

Katie:
What’s going on?
Lewis: There’s no one controlling the power stations…
Katie: So everywhere is cut?
Lewis: Around here, yeah. They automatically switch off when no one gives them a rest.
Katie: We need to get back then.
Lewis: Yeah…we’ve seen enough of this place to last us a lifetime.

Beth:
Let’s hurry and fill this tank up.
Matthew: It’s done, let’s get back…

Matthew: (whispers) We've been spotted!

(gunshot)

Beth:
Get over the wall quickly!
Matthew: Hurry!

Beth: You climb up, I’ll try and kill as many as I can.
Matthew: Right!

(gunshot)

Katie: If we can make it back without any hassle…

Katie: (screams

(gunshot)

Katie: I was about to say if we make it back without any hassle we’ll be very lucky…

Matthew: What the…

(gunshot)

Matthew:
Come on Beth…

Josh: Matthew…we need to get inside the church.

Matthew: What…why?
Josh: Because there’s another one of those things in here…don’t ask how it got in…
Matthew: We need to wait for Beth…
Josh: Are you sure she’s coming?
Matthew: Of course I am, Beth’s the strongest woman I know…
Josh: Then why can’t we hear shooting…

Matthew: No way…
Josh: Come on man, indoors.
Matthew: She may need my help…
Josh: If she’s as strong as you say she’ll be fine, now come on.

Darren: Where’s that woman?
Matthew: She’ll be here soon.

Josh: I knew this would happen, one of those things killed Caz…
Darren: Tony wasn’t at the front either…
Josh: You saw Tony didn’t you?
Matthew: When we first came here; yeah, but not recently.
Josh: God knows where he is then.

(bang at door)

Darren: Tony?
Matthew: Or Beth maybe?
Josh: Check the window...

Darren: Oh my god…no…no way…

Matthew: Where the hell is she?
Josh: What do we do?

Lewis: They’ve not got back yet.
Katie: They need to hurry up…

Darren: We’re not gonna survive this…
Matthew: I thought Caz was supposed to be training you up?

Josh:
Watch the lip you, we’ve been here for days and suddenly, you’ve turned up and we’re in danger.
Matthew: They would have got in anyway…
Josh: Yeah, well I don’t think they would have.

Matthew:
(gasps)

Josh: Run, run!

Josh: (yells) Argh! No! Argh!

Matthew: Darren, up here…

Darren: (yells) Ahh! My ankle!

Darren: Matthew help me…I don’t want to die…help me…

Lewis: Where the hell are they?
Katie: Keep your voice down will you, don’t freak Daniel out.
Lewis: It’s time to freak out…
Katie: Why?
Lewis: Look…

Katie: Oh great...
Lewis: I hope Beth and Matthew are alright...we may need to take off without them...
Katie: We only have a small amount of fuel left in the helicopter.
Lewis: (sighs) I don't know what to do...

Matthew: (yells) Help me!
